Software where hardware meets healthcare.
I'm Adriano Junior, R&D Specialist and Senior Software Engineer building X-ray imaging systems and medical device software at Alliage.
About
I turn complex technical requirements into reliable software for regulated, real-world environments. My work lives in the space between backend systems and embedded firmware: X-ray equipment, imaging pipelines, device monitoring platforms and AI-powered accessibility tools.
Trained as a biomedical engineer and grown into R&D, I've shipped software used in clinics and factories, collaborated with international partners, and I'm currently incubating a health-focused startup on the side.

R&D Specialist Alliage
Leading research and development of X-ray systems: firmware fault detection for electrical arcs, sensor integration and a next-generation X-ray product under validation. Gave the image-quality sign-off that qualified a new sensor supplier from a UK-based partner, and created the blocking and monitoring system for the intraoral scanner and sensor.

Freelance Software Developer Independent
End-to-end delivery for healthcare and business clients: Android software for assistive devices used by blind users, with AI text recognition and image description, plus full-stack platforms in Spring, Angular and Next.js. Optimized a client's C/C++ OCR engine used from Java/Kotlin on Android, eliminating memory leaks and improving performance across the app.

Software Developer Alliage
Built implant visualization for a CT exam viewer across axial, coronal, sagittal and 3D views using quaternions and GLSL shaders. Rewrote the nerve tracing module from 2,000 lines down to 700 and made server data loading 7x faster. Also helped calibrate ADC readings in STM firmware for more accurate power-supply and battery measurements.

Junior Software Developer Alliage
Designed a device monitoring and blocking platform from scratch in Python and Django, integrated with C/C++ firmware. It let the company finance its own equipment safely, and a banking partner later asked to integrate with it.
